All finished to an exceptionally high standard, and equipped with a fully fitted kitchen, ensuite bathroom, double bed, and smart study space – you will have absolutely everything you need to tackle whatever student life throws at you, and to feel right at home.
All residents will have the utility bills and TV license for their suite covered in the cost of their rent, meaning no nasty surprise bills and an easier way to budget (subject to terms and conditions).
Our suites include a double bed, super soft mattress, cosy ambient lighting, and a HD TV, as well as a double wardrobe providing plenty of storage space for your belongings.
Marlix studios each have full ensuite bathrooms fitted with high quality fixtures. Depending on the type of suite you choose, the bathroom will be fitted with either a shower cubicle or full-size bath with overhead shower.
All kitchens at Marlix are fitted with high spec appliances and a stunning modern finish. Our kitchens include a combi microwave oven, hob, fridge freezer, and plenty of cupboard storage. Say goodbye to cleaning up other people’s mess and waiting to use the microwave, your kitchen is private to you and it’s yours to enjoy.
All suites have personal washer/dryers meaning you can wash and dry all your clothes without the need to trek to a shared utility. No more losing your socks in shared machines, waiting in a queues just to get clean clothes, or dealing with other peoples abandoned loads.
The study in each suite provides the perfect, comfortable, quiet place to focus and get work done without distraction. The Marlix building is located within striking distance of Derby University’s facilities, but if you wanted to study in private, we offer a suitable environment to do so.
The entrance of the building is comprised of a lobby area and reception desk which is manned between office hours allowing us to ensure the building is operating efficiently and providing the best experience for our residents. This will be the go-to point for any of our residents to get assistance with any of their needs, and will also provide another level of security for the building, as only residents and welcome guests will be allowed past this point.
The design of the Marlix building incorporates active and passive crime prevention measures, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all our residents. When the reception is not open, there is always a member of staff on call for emergencies. An external security provider also monitors the site and responds to any security concerns. Our access control system requires a fob to enter the building and CCTV provides surveillance for both management staff and out of hours security staff, so our residents have total peace of mind.
Marlix has 6 parking spaces. Due to our city centre location and limited availability, these will be reserved on a first come first serve basis.
All residents have free access to safe and secure storage on-site for bikes and luggage with the ability to charge electric bikes.
